TALOFA FROM THE FUTURE!!! Hello to my beautiful family and
friends!!!
It is an honor to be able to be able to write to you today.
Unfortunately I had a hard time signing on to the computer today and will not
have as much time to write! We will see how much I get to say! This week has gone by at 100 miles per hour. Elda Gray and
I have had to get ready for the new transfer coming up as well as finish a mid
transfer. This means scheduling and organizing flights with the Assistants to the President, driving missionaries to the airport at 4:00 in the morning, and
trying to get in some teaching appointments at the same time.
Because I do not have much time this week to write I want to
share a miracle which occurred yesterday. Elda Gray and I were told during
church that we needed to make emergency flights for some Elders because of the
transfer happening next week. We went to make the flights and the power went
out. After much confusion we figured out Vanuatu has not paid their
electricity bill so the electric company shut off the power throughout the entire
country. This means we could not make the flights, we would not be able to email, and pull
out money from the ATM. Elder Gray and I had planned well and had Vatu saved up
for such an occasion however we could not make the flights we needed. I had
some silent prayers and we waited -not sure what to do. The power did come back
on and we were able to make the necessary flights. This however messed with our
schedule to visit our investigators. We went to our area in Teoma and no one
was home. We felt like today was just going to be a bad day. We did not just
throw in the towel however. We knew we had to keep working. We went to our
2nd area in Nambru ( which Elder Gray and I are both new to) and one thing led
to another and we eventually found 3 new investigators through the experience.
We taught them about the Restoration and bore our testimonies of our Heavenly
Father, Jesus Christ, and the Prophet Joseph Smith. We also gave the Papa or
Dad a Buk Blong Momon to read to his family.
After the lesson, Elda Gray told me my Bislama is pretty
good in lessons but not quite as good when we come out. The Gift of tongues is
very really just in case you did not know!
After this entire experience something really stuck out to me. This was
no accident. We were suppose to meet that family. The Lord is very active in
his Missionary work. I testify He really did lead us to this family and I can
not wait to see what comes of it! What an amazing experience!
I am doing very well and am very happy. Thank you so much to
all of you who write to me. I am sorry that today I have even less time today
and might not be able to email next week because of the transfer. I might be
busy with Travel Elder things during that time.
Momma! Know that I am praying for you any chance I get! I
know The Lord will help you accomplish all you set out to do! I admire you for
your courage and hard work!
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
Elda LaMont/ Shark Bait/ Your Alekken Ty
